I have read through the FAQ but I still have some lingering concerns in regards to Built On and Ensemble lines of notebooks in Australia. The question is mainly due to the fact that I am after a W3J.
First off "ENSEMBLE is ASUS's premiere line, where everything is included and is not customizable." - FAQ but aren't ENSEMBLE notebooks still customizable in terms of CPU, RAM, Hard Drive or is there meant to be a stock version and any variation constitutes a built-on notebook?
Moreover, as the W3J is not shipped to Australia does that mean excluding imports and considering most companies seem to be buying off a reseller in ITC that the only line here in terms of the W3J are built-on? However I thought that being tagged by ASUS was meant to signify that it is part of the ENSEMBLE line.
In terms of this link, this website actually badges the notebook as a Metabox W3J (by ASUS) so it is supposed to be built on? http://www.laptopchoice.com.au/Product.asp?ProductID=28
At the same time another company simply has it as ASUS W3J even though both companies seem to get a large amount of notebooks from ITC. http://www.p4laptops.com.au/order-ITCw3j.htm
Sorry about the inconvenience, I just couldn't seem to locate the answer and if people are buying a W3J for the build quality, then I don't see the point in paying if it is actually built-on. I just don't seem to see a discernable difference between ENSEMBLE and built-on based on the FAQ, particular in regards to the W3J in Australia, which to my knowledge is not shipped here by ASUS.

The W3J is an Ensemble model and comes pre-built with certain configurations. If it's modified in any way, it will void the global warranty by ASUS. So most resellers who allow this (sounds like the one you're talking about is just rebranding the W3J as one of it's own), usually take over the warranty themselves.
Still doesn't change the fact that it can be modified and that it's one great machine with great build quality. -
Righteo, thanks for clearing that up... I was a bit unsure particularly with the fact that ASUS doesn't ship them over here.
