The actualy laptop (M6N) is rather good, but if any of these things happen to you, you're up sh*t creek without a dongle:

    - Lose your SVideo adaptor cable
    - Need a replacement power supply
    - In fact if you need a replacement for ANY accesory
    - Need a new battery

Two of the above has happened to me, and there is NOWHERE to get replacement parts. For me specifically, it was the SVideo cable and the power supply.

Even though the laptops are good, I'm never buying ASUS again due to the lack of support here. A real shame.

I managed to get a generic power supply from a company here nice enough to phycially change the little plug so it fits in my laptop. But I expect ASUS to have replacement parts available like any good manufacturer.

what did the store you bought it from tell you?
they should have put you on to someone

mine had a hdd error, and had to be replaced, and i got mine back in 2 days

they even have a courier service to pick up and drop off if you need it..

Thanks for the reply.... that sounds more positive than my experience. The store is a well known one in Perth, and they didn't know who to put me on to. Enquiries at ASUS distributers said they can't get accessories separately, like the cable & power supply.

Question: was the courier organised by your store or by ASUS? Replacing a HD would only need a standard HD.. whereas trying to get ASUS-specific stuff like accessories seems to be the problem.

Had my m/b replaced twice by ASUS in brisbane, was done in two days on both occassions. For those accessorys you really should be complaining to your place of purchase, they should be able to supply extras, as far as I know ASUS really only deals with RMA/defect/warranty isssues, in Oz.
Also there are many 3rd party parts that can do the job fine, no need for the asus ones, you can shop around for the best parts to suit your needs.
