I´m from Brazil and in a couple of days i´ll be in USA.

I would like to know if anyone can tell me PHYSICAL stores where i can buy an Asus laptop (G1 specially) in Las Vegas, San Francisco or New York City.

I have already checked the resellers list but they all seem to work only with internet commerce.

Hope you guys can help me.

    Thanks

I think you are about out of luck then. Most Asus resellers are online, and the topic was recently brought up, basically Asus won't be popular in stores for quite some time (if ever).

actually, you can probably pick up a g1 from eddie from btotech in brooklyn/new york. however, if you want this to be an option, you will have to contact him.

edit: also, powernotebooks.com has some asus notebooks (no g1 though) and sells notebooks in nevada (don't know if he is close to las vegas). gentechpc is in cali, but i do not know if it is close to sf.

That's true, you may be able to pick out up from him but you won't be able to look at it. If I recall, they're moving to Long Island(or have already?)

How come Asus notebooks are hardly ever available in physical stores? All you see are Sony, Hp, and Toshiba. Asus seems to make such high quality notebooks, so how come resellers like Futureshop, etc never sell them?

Why not just order one online and have it delivered to one of the U.S. addresses? If you're staying at a hotel, they'll normally hold things for guests.

If you want to "try before you buy", the Asus freq. asked questions link above will let you know who Asus makes laptops for. You can get a rough idea from that. I tried out Macbooks before ordering my Asus to get a good idea. They're fairly similar.

There is a store in Brooklyn, New York that has the some of the Asus models. You could give them a call before you come. This is their website: www.btotech.com ;)

Well, in Canada, there are places that you can find ASUS notebooks in physical stores, but still, there are only a few chains. The main reason I would assume would be the amount quantity issue. Unlike the named brands, they do not pump out 200 notebooks per day(Technically they do for other companies...) for themselves, shipments of notebooks usually come in hundreds per few weeks and that then is distributed towards the dealers.
