I'm gonna be purchasing a U6Sg in a couple days and I was wondering:

    1) is asus' zero bright pixel guarantee good enough for peace of mind?
    2) if not, is it worth it to add and extra $100 for a zero dead pixel guarantee (offered from the retailer i'm buying from, ncix.com), which protects from any pixel defects.

I don't remember the terms of the ZBD warranty. But I don't remember any recent post about dead or otherwise bad pixels on a new ASUS notebook... so I'm not sure if anything extra to ZBD it's worth the trouble.

But if you really want to have peace of mind, by all means, look up the ZBD terms on google and then upgrade if necessary.

Asus standard ZBD guarantee is 30 days from receipt for *any* bright dots that surface. I'm not familiar with the terms of the deal from ncix - you will want to check the terms of the ncix deal, as typically those sort of things require a certain number of dots within a defined area of the screen to be present in order to qualify for lcd replacement (i.e. 4 bd's within 1 square inch).
