My daughter has a Asus Eee PC 4G. It also has a external HD and a 32G card I bought. She sent it to a shop awhile back because of a virus. They said it wasn't on external HD or Card (virus). They reinstalled XP.Now it says not enough memory left on drive to add any thing?? I did a C drive junk file clean! Still no help, even did disk defrag! No Help. It shows about half of drive is fragmented. It shows tons of programs that are fragmented. A lot of duplicate files also, that are fragmented.
How Do I fix this? I did have a reinstall disk, the repair shop kept it!! They swear they didn't. I'm getting yelled at by all sides....
HELP !!!!
I meant to ask if I get the program that will give me info on registration and key will it allow me to reinstall from another computer we have?
Thank You David C![]()

Does the EEE 4G have a recovery partition? I am not too familiar with netbooks. Assuming it does, here is what to do:
- back up all the important data on an different, external device (e.g., USB disk)
- reboot the computer
- at the ASUS splashscreen, press F9
- choose "Recover"
WARNING! This step destroys all the data in the computer.
This should bring your computer to the factory state. (without using the install disk) -
...what program are you using to check for these things? Is it a fake anitvirus/spyware program?

If you are talking about defrag? It's in XP. I ran a program called bleach it to remove junk. I also ran XP disk clean, no luck. Another is malware. I try to load another program last night, on the F drive external hard drive. It would not let me. This was to look at duplicate copies on any drive. I have a repair disk. but it isn't very useful on this thing...

I don't know if it does have a recovery partion! That is one reason I posted here. Two left thumbs as they say!!! How can you tell? Let me know and I will try your idea.
Thank You Both For Replies David C Sr

Hm okay. You can check to see if you have a recovery partition by right clicking on My Computer > "Manage"
A window will pop up after a few seconds, and then on the left side you'll see a bunch of categories to choose from. Under the Storage category, click on Disk Management.
Here you'll find a breakdown of partitions on your disk. If you see more than just the C: partition, then you have a recovery partition.
