I love my C90, it does everything I wanted to do. But, the BS deal is driving me nuts.

Here's the strange part----it only BSes at my home. I carry it to work every day---no matter how many times I might restart ---no BS.

Just got back from a 10 day trip---multiple restarts each day---no BS.

I get home---3 to 6 BSes before it settles down to the point I can log in.

What gives? Site specific BSes? I have had three or four BS in the morning, gave up and power cycled it off, gone to work and logged in, no prob.

Also, in Vista under the problem/Solution log it indicates "solution available". But how do you find the solution?

    1) Do you have any devices plugged in at home that are not plugged in at other places?

    2) If not, does it happen on battery and AC or just AC? Could be a bad power outlet.

IF the BSOD's occur, you need to exactly write down the error code : ( STOP 0x0000000A ) or whatever. Luckily, you could trace where the source of the problem occurs. But i also frequently get BSOD's, and cant exactly pinpoint the problem. But thru trial and error, i have identified the ff : as giving me a 50% chance of BSOD's :

1.) during startup, when connecting to the wifi network ( yeah, especially when switching from the office to our home network )

    2) having devices plugged in on the USB ports ( mouse, notebook cooler, etc. ) during startup.

hopefully you could find a solution to your problem...

    Thanks for the replys.

I have used different outlets on different circuits with no change.

But, at home I do use a laptop cooler attached to USB and a USB mouse. When I got home to day I started up without those attached with no BSOD. I will continue to try this and see if this is the answer.

On occasion I have gone a couple days or so with no BSOD at home but that always ends with severl days in a row with 4 - 6 consecutive BSOD's before it stabalizes.

I have a feeling it's one of those USB devices. Perhaps the cooler is trying to draw too much power, or one of the devices has shorted out. Hopefully we're already on the road to a resolution :)

Yep, it goes to happy end.

    Day 2 - no BSOD.

I still use both the mouse and laptop cooler, but I wait until the C90 has completely started up. Then I plug in the USB appliances.

Thanks everyone, that was it. Now to experiment and determine if it's the mouse or the cooler or both. No BSOD if I don't start up with these attached.

With Vista I have a issue of BSOD if I have to much stuff (coolers, mouse, 3G modem and external HD) connected, but with XP I don't. That strikes me as strange.
