    Hi everyone!

I have read various threads and have seen some interesting information about these two laptops. Now I know the obvious facts about the modular nature of the C90 and am intrigued by it. However, I like the big screen of the G2 and love the gamer appeal that it has. I have seen pictures posted by someone that illustrated the undercarriage of the G2 laptop and where the components are. I believe in one of those shots it showed what looked like the GPU. My question is if this can be replaced when the 8800's come out for the Santa Rosa chipset? I know from expereince that it is possible to upgrade laptops that are listed as un-upgradable. I'm not concerned about the warranty (as long as I can get the parts).

I would otherwise wait for the C80 as it would have the larger screen but that may be a ways off and I'm in a demand situation for the laptop. Therefore, if I get a negative reponse about the upgade factor I guess it will be the C90. I'm just not impressed by the screen. Is it possible to get that screen replaced by a display type similar to the G2 but in a 15.4" size? If so I'll just grab that when it comes out.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

The G2S will not be able to upgrade to 8800.

But the Sager 9260 will be able to. It has a 1900x1200 resolution and 17 inch screen (same as G2S). Plus it can do SLI and has desktop processors. It's about $2500 depending on how configure.

    9260 is upgradeable?
you're kidding,it is NOT upgrade able but you can choose to put an 8800 into it.
upgradeable means that we could change the parts as we like.

The NP9620 (Clevo D900C) if FULLY upgradeable, possibly even more so than the C90S due to its RAID feature, and higher tolerance for heat. The D900C is supposed to support Quad cores as well as the 8800M or equivalent.

Hmmm.. interesting choices. Thanks for the varied replies btw.

I guess I'm a little straightened out...but a little more confused at the same time based on the info I'm reading about the clevo/sager notebook. Suposedly, it was demonstrated as a quad core capable system with 2 8800's in it....

    http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/13/clevo-d900c-laptop-touts-core-2-duo-extreme-sli-nvidia-8800s/

Yes, I relaize it's engadget (an older article) so I do take it worth a grain of salt. However, as Asteorid stated this seems to match the upgradable factor that I'm looking for. However, I'm worried that upgrading this beast will net me another 500 payment to Sager for the card (premium expected). My reason for stating this has to do with the MXM type 4 that they have listed but I can't find anywhere else as an Nvidia spec. Also, will the power availblity be enough to supuort a dual card setup of the 8800's similar to the 7950 current offering?

Another course I guess would be to get the Asus and then get the Asus (or MSI) breakout box. But does that come with an upgrade option???

Thank you once again for answering my pain in the rear questions...
