Well, I got around to downloading Driver Cleaner Pro. After an hour, it was still cleaning, and wasn't showing any progress. I Ctrl+Alt+deleted it, and went until Device Manager and uninstalled it.

My problems that I mentioned in this thread still persist.

What's going on? Right now, I have no driver AT ALL, it justs says "Standard VGA Driver" instead of Nvidia 8600 GT.

Any help would be much appreciated it.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Luckster, shot you a PM.

The exact process I took after I posted the problem was this:

I had posted the problem. I did some research and came up empty. I put in the driver disk again and had done the auto install from the little program that comes up from the auto run. I had to go to work, I shut down the computer. About 14-15 hours later I turned it back on, still no progress. I came across the thread I mentioned in the PM containing the first link I gave you. I downloaded the 163.44 driver and rebooted. I still had nothing after that. I shut down again for about 4.5 hours while I slept and then turned it back on. The driver did it's work apparently, but there were still some problems like I had mentioned. I had done some more research in the Asus forum and found nothing but once I went over the the OS and software forum I found that second link I sent you that may have helped, I'm not sure. I rebooted a few times after that and now the only issues I have, like I mentioned, are the occasional internet based codecs that I haven't installed yet; shockwave, java, and the likes.

Otherwise, I'm GPU problem free now. Hope I could help.

Luckster, thought I would share this with you since you have the same issue I did when I first got the C90.

My video card actually died on me and Asus had to switch it out for me.
