Hey guys (and gals), I just experiences this rather interesting issue.

While copying a 800mb file from a SD card to the hard drive, I received several display driver lockups.

It managed to recover from all but I found it interesting that a card reader file transfer could affect a display driver.

No other programs have done this before and the only issues I've had with graphics are just typical to the overly hot running GDDR3 8600.

Although I'm not really concerned with this quirk, anyone else run into this?

That's odd, have you tried another version of the card reader driver? I've had some problems with the latest TurboGear which I was unable to click anything behind the top left corner of the desktop/screen. So it wouldn't be surprising that Asus didn't fully check their drivers and that the driver might be conflicting with something else.

I had the TurboGear issue, too. When I opened up the Desktop Background dialog it was working again until the next restart. I never experienced any problems with the card reader tough but then again I didn't use it that much.

I haven't tried any other card reader drivers, but the problem seems to be isolated to very large file transfers, as in files larger than 400mb.

it's either driver or firmware. If you don't try a different driver you won't be able to tell.

Does it work properly in another OS, like Live Linux?

    Amen to that. :)
