I'm thinking of alternative to my ordered M1330, after reading a lot of problem with XPS i'am thinking of canceling it.

any idea what the best replacement for M1330? 15" no probs with me. I play games sometimes but i want the high ends of this two Asus (C90, G1S) or any other good Asus alternative?

Price no probs. Budget up to $3k.

    thanks

Well right now the g1s is better at gaming due to faster gpu, and the c90 is plagued with issues (at least mine is) so if you dont mind the gamer look of the g1s, well then blow all those 3k on the best possible components gor the g1s from and asus reseller (don't get it from best buy)

You'll probably get your G1s faster. I received mine in less than a week (even with ground shipping) because I ordered it completely stock. Shipped same day.

It's also performed flawlessly for me.

The C90 is a pretty cool machine too though, but as a G1 owner, I don't regret getting it at all. I don't think very many people have hated their G1's either. :p

    if your budget is 3000 get the sager 9260 had a similar processor but the other components are different; its 17 inch though for a 15 inch model this is a high end user laptop meaning there is more to do after or during the purchase that requires user interaction. but there are other 15'4 and 17 inch laptops; for gaming the video card should be on par performance wise with the latest games; i cant say thats the case with the c90s; at least right now; but who wants to buy a computer to work on it? the c90 is good at work thats not just home office ; but its support in terms of software; mainly the vga card and other various parts make one weary of opeaning the case to install parts;

just get the 17 top of the line sager it handles the heat probably better; but the c90s not bad at that; no media buttons so the laptop is more of a streamlined pc labled a laptop but with parts and userability akin to a desktop; the new sager is like that to; i would put them both in the same category; and say the shelf life at least 8 months before any major system changes or patches and upgrades. so think will the c90 board be better for useability upgrades or will the 9260 . i think i ramble sometimes but its healty. the g1's are cool looking but id prefer the c90s even with its issues; although the keyboard and the trackpad could have been furnished differently like a larger keyboard and a more honorably sized trackpad. i dont think the build quality of the 17 model i am mentioning is lackluster at all; but for half the price as the 17 model you get around a similar rage of user functons and abilities . your choice as i guess it takes time to get used to any laptop. certainly some complaints can be made over the c90s keyboard especially for someone like me with large hands. but its cool; peace.

You can get 4GB and Business, you'll need 64bit though. With Vista Business, a 200GB 7200RPM drive, 4GB of Ram and a 3 year warranty (up from 2) it's about 2600USD. I personally would stick with 2 or 3GB of ram and 32bit Home Premium myself, but that's your call.

I'm used to carrying around a 15.4 laptop. The G1 is a little bigger than my old HP, but it's weight is about the same, so it's size is no big deal to me.

    I didn't.

As far as I know, the jury is still out on whether or not it provides any benefit.

But hey, it's only 40 bucks.

well if you use a 64 bit os then it will show and use the full 4GB.

Both are good resellers Ive only had experience with Gentech and they are very helpful and quick to reply quetions.

it will show only 3GB but the 1GB is working/using or not?

gentech is non refundable, does it make sense in choosing?

no it will only use the complete 4 gb if its running on a 64 bit os (Ive read that if you get the 4 GB it will show and use 3.5 gb, but cant confirm this).

about if it makes sense well that is up to you, how sure are you about keeping this laptop?

like i said all resellers that post here are good (milestone, gentech and btotech) ive only had experience with gentech thats why i talked about them
