Hi, I'm in a dilemma to which I think I know the answer but nevertheless would like to get some of your opinions:

I got a Asus Lamborghini VX2 yesterday: nvidia 7700, C2D T7400, 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400RPM ... I know it is a dated machine but it costed me 1399 eur (I thought it was a steal, was it not?) I can still return it within 30 days and today I learned about the

Asus C90. I was looking for a customizable laptop (almost got a Dell Inspiron) but because I accidently saw this gorgeous lamborghini I got my mind and eyes blinded.

I need performance and less battery autonomy because my laptop will be sited in my desk the whole time. The only reason I need a laptop is I'm studying in UK but I'm actually from Portugal. So every holiday I'llhave to transport my stuff back and forth.

I know nexus13.com where I can get a C90 for roughly the same price I got my Lambo: E6600,3GB RAM, 100GB 7200RPM. I know that with this system I won't get more than 30min of battery (will I?) but still, battery is not important.

Is there any reason for not returning my lambo (besides being gorgeous)?

Hello and Welcome to the forums :)

Well, if you don't need the Mobility that the VX2 provides, I think there is little reason to go with the VX2. Though VX2 is indeed a very beautiful laptop, The G1S brings much more performance and is more cost effective.
And to my knowledge, the maximum battery life is 80 minutes, though I think it will be reduced to 30 minutes if you are using it at full performance.

I wish they had a V1X without the Asus branding!

Ya, I wish VX2 didn't have the Asus mark as well.

As I said, I know the correct answer... what I need is great performance (for the lowest price) because of my degree. So I'm thinking about returning the VX2.

DO you know if C90 uses the GDDR3 memory or is it the slower DDR2?

The C90 has 2 GPU versions, the 8600M gt with 512mb is ddr2, while the 256Mb version ( which is the current and newer model ) is GDDR3.
