I recently just purchased an Asus C90S (Notebook) from CyberPowerpc.com. And its being shipped as i type, but I can't help worrying that the notebook wont be good for gaming. I had purchased a desktop computer form there years ago and loved it. So my question is, was getting the gaming notebook with the "Geforce Go 8600M GT 512MB" a good choice? I run games like World of Warcraft, Armed Assault: Combat Operations, Rainbow 6 Vegas, and BF2. Will this card be able to handle those games, and new releases for the next 2-3 years.

    Specs:
    CPU: (Sckt775)Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo E6700 CPU @ 2.66GHz 1066FSB 2x2MB L2 Cache
MEMORY: 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 DDR2-667 SODIMM Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
    HDD: 160GB 7200RPM SATA150 HARD DRIVE
OS: Microsoft(R) Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium (64-bit Edition)
VIDEO: Built-in NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT 512MB Shared Supports up to about 1.2GB Turbo Cache Video

    Feedback please :D

The C90S handles all of those games on high settings with a decent 20-30 FPS (Wow is like 150 FPS). The only problems would be ArmA and Vegas, ArmA has serious Vista issues and runs at a snail's pace on even killer rigs. Vegas has a lot of taxing eye candy that makes very little difference on the actual picture. You will have to tune these back in order to get 30ish FPS.

    Thanks Alex

So overall i should have a pretty smooth gaming experience? Hoping games like Vegas and Arma, will have upcoming patches for more compatability with Vista 64.

    Thanks again!

Another question, when I'm looking for drivers....Is the GeForce 8600M GT the same GeForce Go 8600M GT?...

Yea, "Go 8600M GT" is a misnomer, the mobile architecture is now denoted by the M on the end of the number. Also the drivers are the same for the 512 and 256MB versions, so no need to worry about that either!
