I just re installed windows on my computer and do not have my drivers disk. I have upgraded the video drivers once before and just downloaded the driver and the modded INF file at laptopvideo2go

For some reason it's not working this time. I replace the old INF file with the new and start the setup. After I restart the computer I have the worst resolution with horrible color and video lag. (4 bit color)

Which driver do I need, I tried about 5 of them and non of them are hitting the spot for me. Now I am at the point where I got the screen looking good but the lag of the video is extremely bad and it's saying "the system started using the default VGA driver"

    nvidia 8600 GT
    Windows XP service pack one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Uninstall the driver and use Driver Sweeper and clear the Nvidia Video drivers. From there try another set of drivers from LV2G.

Could it be something else that causing everything video wise very slow...?

I Uninstalled it and now everything looks fine but if i try to move around a window or something it just lags REALLY bad.

I tried getting the driver off the asus website and that was also no help

Go to your task manager, sort by usage, and poll for 5 minutes, and tell use the top 3 results with their respected % and for their longest time. Your issues seems to be more CPU related according to your description of mouse lag.

I suggest the 177.66 modified inf drivers, but they just work for me. You will end up testing 5-10 drivers before you like one.

CPU usage was at 0 percent the whole time. system idle process 99 percent, most mem usage is firefox @ 74mb, and svchost @ 24mb

along with the driver sweeper, I can't seem to get it do download, it just times out after a couple min

And all during this time, you had mouse lag? Also, what are you trying to download, the drivers? or a program?

Haha, nice. I like it because it has powermizer, it allows my computer to go and stay asleep, great performance, etc.

For future reference, I had this problem with a LV2Go driver. I solved it by using setup.exe instead of the Have Disk method. It might have worked here, as well.
