    Hi,

Is it possible to change a C90S to C90P, I wonder if the differences between C90S and C90P are so deep ?

Have motherboards the same shape and dimensions ?
If yes holes ans screws must be at same places ?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you could easily swap in the C90P motherboard. What you must also do however is get hold of the C90P CPU and GPU heatsinks also. And the passive northbridge heatsink (not actively cooled anymore). Otherwise there is no difference between the machines at all.

I am not sure if it is worth money or effort though. Considering the amount of money that would need to be invested. I only did the swap personally by selling my much loved C90S and buying the C90P with the proceeds while not losing a penny in the process.

Essentially to make my C90P as powerful as it is I invested just over £300 for the Q9650 and ATI card. If you had to buy the motherboard, new 800mhz ram (maybe you have it already), new faster CPU to take advantage of better motherboard and new GPU at some point too you might as well get a modern faster laptop for the same money.

    Hello King,

    Thanks alot.
I've already since a long time a GPU heatsink, as perhaps i'll make a mod same as phoenon .

So I need heatsinks for CPU and northbridge, and a motherboard.
But Asusparts sell no C90 motherboard :(

I don't know if i'll do this mod, I ask just to be sure if it is possible.

HS : your fan mod is still on the way ?
Please, could you ask if a bios mod could be possible, as a windows soft is difficult to write ?

My fan mod is complete but my machine is once again not operational since I have decided to RMA my SSD AGAIN :( third time in 2 years. Warranty runs out next week lol. Basically the system would crash as soon as I even tried to play a youtube video and would stutter in far cry 2 even at low settings.

Never ever ever ever get a SSD with a Jmicron controller. Biggest mistake of my computer component buying life lol

oh yeah the fan mod works great !! in fact I will snap some pics in the next half hour and put em up for you to see as I have the back popped off for the moment until I get a new HDD. Probably going to sell the replacement SSD and get a Hitachi 7k500.

    Did you see that ?
    Hard Drives | Seagate
    then Momentus® XT ?
SSD-like performance at an extremely low HDD price.
It is an hybrid HDD, I'm waiting for reviews.
It should be available in september.

Yeah I have seen it. 4GB seems a little pointless though. Plus I am rather put off SSD;s for the moment.
