Hello,
I recently got a hold of a 9600gt for my C90s. I got one quick question about the temperature... On idle with cooler I am getting about 60 degrees... But when load its about 110 max.
Any clue why there is such a big gap?
I am currently using the old c90s aluminum plate sanded down to size.
Thanks for the input

That is hot. Are you sure the heatsink contacts the core correctly?

Nightwalker in this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=316079 suggests that with the aluminium heatsink only half of the memory chips get cooled actively.
I think your best bet would be to follow his guide to make an all new copper heatsink for it or purchase the all copper heatsink for the C90P from www.asusparts.eu and give that a try.
I have done this upgrade and posted details of it in the C90S modders Club thread, it works fine with the 8600M GT and shows promise for upgrade to 9600M GT http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=176690&page=23 post #228 -
