    I carry my C90 everywhere, to work, and back to home, every day. Saturday night I had set up and been using my C90 at the dinning table while waiting for relatives to arrive for the holiday weekend.

    My 75 lb. German Shepherd came tearing down the hallway, and instead of going around the table, ran straight under it at full bore. She snagged the power cord , dead solid, launching the laptop straight up about two feet off the table. On the way back down it missed the edge of the table, hit the hardwood floor at the beginning of the steps into the living room where it skidded to a stop about ten feet from the table.

    I immediately jumped up from my easy chair and saw raw hinges and a blank screen, which made me absolutely sick. Turned out the hinge covers had popped off. After about five minutes of searching those were located and put back on. Plugged it back into the power supply and rebooted fine.

    Eventually found that one side of the DVD face cover is loose, but not a crack, scratch, or any other problem noted.

    These C90's are tough laptops

    :eek: :eek:

    wow im asumming it hit the floor flat, cause im pretty sure any laptop that hits the floor on its side = damage screen. but good to know they will resist some impact

    Actually it appeared to hit on the right rear corner. I guess that's why the hinge covers popped off. At first I thought they were broken too.

    Just checked the camera for the first time, it's good.

    I travel with mine all over as well and I hope I never have to go though that, glad it was alright. You took one for the team just to show how tough the C90S really is.

    I can kind of feel the strange feeling in the bottom of my stomache that you must have felt during the "omg what just happened" phase by just reading.

    More laptops should have a magnetic adaptor connection like Apple.

    I love those magnetic adapters, the only problem is that the C90 has serious problems with switching to power saving mode, drops to clock to fast to far and can crashes apps. I'm talking about the not so seamless switch from regular to powers saving mode.

    wow...
    The turbo vent is dual purpose;
    1. looks awesome & keeps cool - manual control would be nice...
    2. carrying handle for short moves (or too lazy for sleeve) :p

    I find myself being overly-cautious and stickler,
    but at least now I know if the worst comes: solidly built!

    your laptop may seem fine now, but i highly suggest you to back up your important files now whille it still reboots fine. i am 99% sure that somewhere on your HD a sector has been damaged. how do i know this you ask? because it happened to me.
