    Hello everyone!

I am new to the forum but it seams you are a bunch of nice guys so I'll give it a shot.

I just purchased a C90s from EXcaliberPC with CPU, WIFI, RAM but I still have to buy a HD. Some people said that 7200rpm drives are too hot and can get uncomfortable to work with but I am mainly interested in speed. I don't care so much about size because I still have an external 500GB drive. Is there a big speed gap between 5400rpm and 7200rpm drives? Please help me in my decision and maybe tell me about your drives and why you chose them.

    Any help will be appreciated,
    Chris

I don't find the heat to be uncomfortable. As I stated in another thread, you get used to the "heat" fast. I really don't find it to be bad though. I think the little bit of performance boost is worth it, especially if you have a 500GB external.

Thanks for the quick reply kiwikat.
Are there any big differences in performance between the manufacturers.
    Which models would you recommend?

The hitachi deskstar and seagate momentus series are pretty good, although pretty much all drives are good.

I think the 250gb WD is the perfect match for this computer.

its very low heat and just as fast as the 160gb 7200rpm drives.

The extra space is a great compliment to the fast cpu so you can do encoding and things wich tend to use up alot of space, also games and music ect take up alot of space.

Being that its on sale for 180$ too, its really a no-brainer

The 80gb Hitachi will be slower than the 5400rpm WD.
