I've been reading on the C90s for a while now, and I'm stumped at the fact that this laptop is released, but I can't go to a store and buy this.
Does anyone know if this will ever come to a store in Canada? or is this going to be an online purchase only?
The reason why I ask is well, I'm a student and do not have a lot of money so I prefer to finance. Best buys 24 months interest free pay monthly is an easy way to go for me, since I can afford $100 a month or so. And after reasearching and so on (since I had my mind on an HP) I've came to the conclusion that HP sucks. (for what I want a laptop for anyways)
Any information on this would be helpful.

I would say the chances of this laptop coming to stores like BB and Futureshop are next to none. Those stores cater to the mainstream user that would be very intimidated with a barebones laptop. You might find it in local computer shops like MilestonePC though.

And where are they located?

I'm sure there are other stores that have them. I haven't really looked, since I bought mine from the US because of the high Canadian Dollar. -
They don't sell in store, you can only buy them from dealers.
Check the sticky for the ASUS FAQ which has a list of dealers. -

The only Computers you will find in stores are complete models. In Asus' case, the Ensemble line.

Actually this laptop will soon be in stores.
Its at circuit city under the velocity micro brand name. The problem would be that you only have a choice of getting a 6600 or 6700 and you also can't pick out the rest of your components.
Its also going to be better and most likely cheaper if you go about it yourself but like you said for the sake of financing a purchase like this then it would work.
Asus C90s at Circuit city -

That is listed at $1849.99
I got way better components that that (3 GB memory, Vista Business, Momentus 7200.2) for only 50 bucks more... -
Actually the Circuit City one isn't terribly over-priced. You might be paying $100-$200 more, but you'll also get the financing option. The other thing is, Circuit City only has a 3 month no interest plan - so you'll need to pay ~$600 a month if you don't want to pay interest.

I paid 500 a month with my parents' financing plan, no interest =P
EDIT: But for those without people capable of making such personal loans, then that probably is a good deal. -
So is this a re-branded C90???
$1549 hmmm

that is quite impressive that circuit city will be selling it, even if rebranded. although overpriced they will also offer a warranty for you, even having accidental as an option - will be expensive though. -
looks like it.

Every spec I read on the CC site is exactly the same. Weird...

I am so happy I got mine from gentechpc. -

Thanks for the help guys.

I am happy I got mine at gentechpc because the computer I got there was far better than the one CC has configured and it has FAR better customer service.

Yea, I configured a laptop for exactly the same specs on V.Micro, and it cost almost 300 dollars more.

Why does Circuit City http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Veloc...oductDetail.do and Velocity Micro
http://www.velocitymicro.com/category.php?cid=3 say it has a 667Mhz FSB? -

Because they are idiots.

I also thought your comment was somehow trying to imply that the notebook you have is better quality than the one circuity city is selling. For someone that does want to finance the C90 this is a viable option.
It all sort of evens out though. Buy the C90 for a couple hundred bucks more at circuity city no interest for a couple months or buy it as a barebone and pick your own components but end up paying interest on your credit card.
