    5. my cpu is 70c at idle w/ artic silver 5??!! i double checked the heatpipe it was tightly fit together.

any one had answers to these?? i'll try the bios upgrade tomorrow, but i don't think everythings can fix just by flash a new bios...

it is using speedstep for the 1.6ghz, make sure your power setting for windows is at high performance and then when your computer needs the power, it will go faster

your bios is the stock one, which is known to not run the memory at full speed, the 502 bios fixes this - however im pretty sure, this computer can't run 800mhz anyway., 667mhz max

the disabled mouspad button doesnt work for me either, but doesnt bother me hwoever, love the touchpad so dont use an external.

perhaps you need the modded inf file before you can update the vga bios

and you may have put too much or too little artic silver 5. i had my cpu installed by power4gear and right now running at 48C on the net.

    1. Make sure another the built in power plan is not interefering. If it is on power saving it clocks down the gpu so may do the same to the gpu.
    2. The c90 can only support 667, regardless the 502 bios by Ken fixes this issue.
    3. You mean the hotkey?
    4. Try laptopvideo2go drivers?
    5. Hmm not sure about that one.

How do you get the hot keys (FN + keys) to work? Is it a software install or just works?

should just work really, worked for me.

hes talking about the 4 keys at the top right i believe - in particular, the one that is supposed to turn off the touchpad - and those 4 keys are software, included in the orginal disk (utilities)

    doesn't work for me either

but neither does turbogear - it originally did, but no longer does. (anyone have a fix for that or a similar situation, let me know :))

    1) already mentioned its called speed step the computer lowers the speed of the cpu and things when its not underload. When a load is present it will go back up to full speed instantly.

2.) 800mhz ram was never officially supported, it was stated it would work with the c90 as you have prooven but never to run at those speeds, possibly with a bios update it can tho.

3.) It works perfectly for me as do all the other buttons make sure you install all the drivers and utillites from the drivers disk. There are 2 sections on the disk one tab is "drivers" one is "utillities"

4.) If you trying to install updated drivers from laptopvideo2go.com you not only need the drivers themselves but the modified .inf file to install them. That is a totally seperated download and you must install that file manually.

5.) Thats normal, the cpu runs hot and its just in a small notebook, I had about the same temps. Today I installed this:

    http://www.burnoutpc.com/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=245

and I now have mid 60's idle. You ambient will play a big roll in idle temps aswell, without knowing that we have no basis to judge your temps on. Load is whats important really and I barly go to 80 load wich is ok.

For some reason 1 out of the 4 hotkeys don't work (the very right button). Doesn't anyone know what that button is used for and how I can enable it?

It changes from mode to mode:

aka power save mode, normal, game, and overclock.

Id guess it wont work if you dont have the overclocking software installed. Also if you have a cpu that cant go into a certian mode or have it restricted via windows for power managment (like you cant use game or overclocking mode while on battery power)

Do you mean turbo gear as the overclocking software? I have that installed already. As for the power management, I'm set on standard.

    FYI:

Guys, if your on Vista, you have to browse around the driver cd. there are TWO folders for the quick key functions. one is labeled atk1001 or somthing like that and they other i believe is just labled ATK. I forget where they are on the cd but soem of the function keys AND the turbogear key wont work unless you install both of them.

About the "far right quick-launch button" you must also make sure that Turbo Gear is running, as it will not launch the program (only change the settings of it)

For the 800 speed RAM, the fastest it will read at is 667, ever. The fastest it will most likely ever run at is about 639.6, because the C90 runs in synchronous mode. The 800 speed will really just make your overclocks a lot more stable.
