AI Gear Help is running all the time in task manager applications, and I'm trying to find out if it needs to be. Is this turbo gear help?

vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.

Click your Start menu --> Run --> type "msconfig" --> click the startup tab --> uncheck the wbctlvga -

Don't you find anything in msconfig that looks (from the filename description etc. )like AI gear help?
In WinXP there is the jv16 power tools which offers more verbose descriptions of the starting programs. But I'm not sure the free version works in Vista cause it's quite old. Maybe CCleaner does it? See also Flamenco's Top Vista Tweaks thread for suggestions of software for registry and startup handling.
Also check the services list. (control panel / admin tools / services) -

What is the program tho?? I saw it too when I was optimising the other day I didnt turn it off since it was not using any resources really and didnt want to mess with turbo gear stuff. I guess just a help file being preloaded?

Without having GearHelp.exe running and as a msconfig startup key, my OC hotkey became disabled. Reselecting it corrected the OC hot key.
wbctlvga is for the asus enhanced vga driver -
AIGearHelp is The Turbogear OSD.

All of the OSD's exluding turbo gear maybe, are shown via the ATKOSD.exe process
