    CD/DVD Drive Issue

    When I put the CD in, the light blinks rapidly. It sounds like its trying to adjust and start the spin. But it never spins. Anyone had this issue? Mechanical failure?

    Anyone know where I can buy a replacement drive? Is there a site that sell Asus parts?

    I don't know if you've checked eBay, but there are occasionally people selling parts there.

    Alternately, if you can find somebody still selling those online, particularly if they're selling customized/customizable systems, call and ask if you can buy a drive. Similarly, I'd imagine if you called Asus proper, you could get a price quote as well (they'll have them available, since they'd offer service at a price).
