This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    CD/DVD drive problem on ASUS F7SE

    I have a problem with my ASUS F7SE.

    My CD/DVD optical drive seems not to work properly
    (almost impossible reading/writing CD-DVDs).

    The model onboard is:

    HL- DT-ST GSA-T40N
    with firmware upgraded to JW02.

    I would like to change it.
    So I need to know if there is a compatibility list
    for optical drive with ASUS F7SE notebook.

    Would be very useful to have some suggestions on
    how to find, replace the drive.

    Are blueray drive supported too?
