    CPU not running at top speed with Speedstep disabled?c90

    I have disabled speedstep in the bios and the cpu according to CPU-z is still running slow. Is there another setting?

    Yes that´s right. Vista reduces speed when cpu is in idle mode. Check again with cpu-z and start the calculator. Type 666666 then press n! on the calculator.

    Now you can see cpu-z in the correct speed, because the cpu must work very much now and the original speed will be set by the OS.
