Hi guys,
I just got this laptop and tried to overclock the cpu with turbogear (15%). Do you guys think it will damage my CPU if I keep the CPU in OC mod?
Also I still got the frame drop problem if I put my machine in the sleep mode. Is there any way to solve this problem rather than restart?

no and no .

what is this frame rate drop you speak of, i've been through countless threads and to be honest never heard anything about it, i just bought my g71 however and i'm sure there is a lot to learn.

He means his G71 gets zero FPS when it's in sleep mode.

After you wake up the G71 from sleep mode, if your GPU hits 82ºC then it downclocks drastically and games become unplayable.

ahh ic ic, sorry for my very newbish comment, was luckily one of the many whom bought a bb g71 after a new bios came out, i flashed mine to 1701 instantly, i also disabled the sleep feature as this laptop is either on and in use or just off... i should be having no problems with the g71 with the most current bios no?

As long as you do not use the sleep feature, yes.

I tried to OC 15% of my cpu. After couple hours gaming, my CPU temperature reach 64 oC and my ACPI reach 74. Is it normal?
I do have a cooling pad. -

those temps seem very normal, what are they without the cooling pad?
-
2oC lower. By the way, my GPU temperature seems ok which is around 84 oc when I am playing game.(with Cooling Pad)

No. I mean does he get lower temps without the cooler?
-

lol I thought it was 20 degrees cooler not 2 degrees.
-
sorry about that! I mean I get 2 degree higher without cooling pad.

All those temperatures are normal.
