While playing a game on my new W3v, I monitored the CPU temp, and found it reached 88C after a hour, it seemed to be leveling off, the fan was at 2000 rpm. While doing an after effects render for 10 mins it got to 80C.
This was using the new bios posted yesterday V 504. Is this normal?. Or should I be worried. The base is warm but not overley hot.

    Thanks

I know with the M6Ne of mine, when I upgraded the bios my cpu temps, as measured by asus probe, shot up 10-15C. I dont believe that there was an actual physical temp rise, more that the newer bios behaved strangly on my machine. The reverse occured with some other users of the M6Ne`s. So although not directly related to the W3v, there is a precendent for abnormal temp readings with bios upgrades, and each bios can behave slightly differently on the same model. So my suggestion is to try a few bios, find one that suits and stick with it.
In general you should really only consider upgrading the bios if you are a) having problems, or b) a new bios offers a feature that you would like..considering asus very rarely tells you what each new bios does, I suggest not upgrading unless you fall into catagory a.
