Hi,
I am wondering if the M50 series built-in multicard reader supports compact flash cards at UDMA 5 mode?
I am planning on buying a 4GB Compact Flash Card (300X Speed) for $50 to boot Windows XP from. The Transcend stick is the fastest one recorded from this site: http://www.hjreggel.net/cardspeed/index.html#cs_udmacf.html
Here is one booting Windows XP in 19 seconds using a Sandisk card which scored well, too: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Iog7nxZXsfs&feature=related
Thanks!

From my understanding, you can boot Windows from removable media. So I would say, yes, it can be done.
Be careful though, as CF cards are not designed to withstand large amount of read/write. -
Yep, I know I can boot Windows from it. I'm just wondering if the card reader can read the compact flash card at UDMA 5 mode. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider booting from it as my HD will do fine.
Thanks.
