I've been told that the G50VT was built to hold 12.5mm drives like the Hitachi drives.

My question is, will it be able to hold 2 12.5mm drives? Or 1 12.5mm and 1 9.5mm only?

By 12.5mm drives, I mean 2.5" drives that are thicker than usual.
Can it use 2 of them?

Yea in particular, I'm looking at Hitachi 5K500
I opened up my G50VT and it looked like 1 HDD bay was a lot shallower than another.

So I'm guessing the shallow one can hold 12.5mm depth, and the steeper one can hold something even deeper?

Now only if the WD raptor had standard plug location... eheh...

Would be awsome to see 2 10K rpm drives on a notebook... Battery life would suck and has higher risk of shock damage but boy would it fly in a raid 0, lol

you know what i may have been wrong. Just realized that the one by it self does not allow 12.5mm. I think the one next to the cpu does though

Is there any reason for Hitachi? Just get WD5000BEVT series and they are standard 9.5mm. (500GB - 5400rpm too)
