Yes asus does offer an extended warranty on their ensembles. BTOs warranty are handled by your dealer.

I think he asked about purchasing the warranty after the notebook has been purchased... which I don't think ASUS will allow us resellers to do.

    No, you asked correctly.
    I think SRD just misunderstood.
    Not a problem!

Asus' extended warranty program on the ensembles needs to be purchased with a notebook...... it could be purchased a few days later, but it needs to be postmarked within 15 days of purchase and needs to be purchased from the place you bought the computer.. So, it really doesn't leave you much time to order it seperately and mail it in. For that reason alone, I know that we simply say it needs to be bought with the notebook so it could ship with it...

You're not in the US - it's an entirely different ballgame and you need to call Asus to see how it works where you are...

Could have been a special promo to target customers who purchased before the 2 year was available... :D

I believe when you register the warranty on the site... that's the standard warranty and I believe that page goes through the global site....... regardless, things have changed - and Asus is never on the same page to begin with, so it's impossible to trust anything that is randomly found on their site.... believe it or not, but we all know how it goes.

Does the standard and/or extended 2 year warranty cover only manufacturers defects or does it extend beyond the scope? For those laptops without the "Zero Pixel Guarantee", what would constitute a defective screen covered under the warranty? Thank you for your help.

As far as dead pixels go, stuff not covered under the ZBD policy is up to the reseller.
For example if you find any dead or bright pixels withing the first 15 days you can get a replacement.
If it's past the 15 days, it falls under the standard bright dot / dead pixel policy.
