So I'm seriously considering buying an S96J. I went to a website R&J Technology, I configured my system and then I notice it says something about VBI (verified by intel) and there's a brochure about Interchangeability. I'm starting to get the distinct impression that I'm in over my head with this, and I'm having visions of my computer coming in parts and assembly instructions in half Japanese half Korean. If I could buy an Asus at a store or even a BBB website I'd be ok, but these basement operations seem a little iffy to me.
What is this VBI interchangeability thing, and how should it affect my buying decisions?
Any words of advice on where to purchase these Built On systems? Any tell tale signs of corruption?
Thanks!

Just check out www.resellerratings.com and look up the stores you are looking into buying from.
Would strongly recommend contacting them too... -

Some good places to buy Built-On models would be:
www.geared2play.com
www.rjtech.com
www.gentechpc.com -
If the instructions are in Korean I can help you out.
Like AuroraS said, check out those sites, if you're in Ontario, Canada, check out Pacificnotebooks, or Canadasys.
Pacificnotebooks just had their North York location broken into, so things are running a little slow over there because of things getting sorted out, but they're still great, I got mine there.
I would contact the store and ask a few questions.
Can I trust the guy in the basement?
