    N71 (more precisely, N71vg)

I'd like to turn off LEDs, even power LED if possible. Any program that could do that?

I have the N71JQ and I don't think it is possible to turn LEDs off using a software.

Just curious, why do you want to turn them off?

Because they are annoying. A milder version of someone pointing a flashlight in my eyes. In a dark room when watching a movie, I want to watch a movie. For the love of God I can't think of a reason why instead of watching a movie I'd want to watch LED's and know that "x is working / switched on". It's beyond me.
If all else fails I'm going to dye the lamps in black.. or anything that will dim the light.

The real question is - why do people want these LEDs? Do you really need to have a LED for hard drive, so that you know it is working? Of course it's working, your computer is on! Do I really need a LED that tells me wireless is 'on'? Yes I know it's on, I'm not senile. I didn't disable it so it's on, and it will be on tomorrow and the day after, even though I'm using ethernet cable and not even connected via wireless.

ps: Alright, I suppose if I disable wireless and bluetooth I'll solve 1 LED. So only HDD one remaining. I should perhaps remove hard drive? ;)

Well I don't know if they used different LEDs on N71JQ than N71VG. I personally don't find them that bright. I had before M50VM and there the LEDs were much brighter and annoying in the dark.

Maybe you can put some black paint on them.

Black electrical tape is cheap, simple, easy, and clean. Plus if you decide to resell your computer eventually you won't have to explain to the next person that probably wants the LED's functioning why they apparently don't.
