    Hi can I upgrade:

ATI Mobility™ Radeon®HD 2400, External 256MB VRAM Hyper memory support????

I think I can upgrade my processor from

    ® Core™2 Duo Processor T5850/T5750/T5550 : 2.16 GHz -
    1.83 GHz, 2MB On-Die L2 Cache. FSB 667MHz

    to

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7700/T7500 : 2.4 GHz - 2.2 GHz, 4MB On-Die L2 Cache. 2.4/2.2GHz. FSB=800MHz;

And then go from 3gb to 4gb of ram might use the windows 7 64bit.

Does anyone have anyadcie on what I should upgrade here, my laptop is f7sr find it here!

First off, no you can't upgrade that GPU, at least, it would be unlikely anyway. Asus generally solders their GPU's onto the motherboard, or uses a proprietory design.

I'm not sure about the CPU upgrade as they both use different FSB speeds.

And when it comes to memory, you're telling me that you already have 4GB? Or do you only have 3GB? Well, in the case that you have 4GB, I think you should get the Windows 7 64 Bit OS.

Older Asus systems aren't always capable of supporting 4GB RAM, and some of those that do have been shown to perform slower at that level compared to 3GB (i.e. the G1).

Hmm I was hoping to use windows 7 64bit, can I get a definitive answer to this or is it a case of trial and error.

Does the 'external' in ATI Mobility™ Radeon®HD 2400, External 256MB VRAM Hyper memory support mean I can upgrade this graphics card. Atm the approx. display memory is 1523Mb, can I increase this?

Lastly can I make this change
    ® Core™2 Duo Processor T5850/T5750/T5550 : 2.16 GHz -
    1.83 GHz, 2MB On-Die L2 Cache. FSB 667MHz

    to

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7700/T7500 : 2.4 GHz - 2.2 GHz, 4MB On-Die L2 Cache. 2.4/2.2GHz. FSB=800MHz;

Thanks for your help clearskies xx

Actually, I am afraid I did not completely check out the computer page for your laptop. According to Asus, YES you CAN upgrade your CPU to a T7700 or T7500 depending on your finances. They are listed on the page.

If you plan on getting any 64bit OS, yes I would recommend 4GB of RAM.

You would notice a bit of an increase yes on older games. But not very big on newer games that are less cpu dependant.

I think I need to upgrade my cpu to play blu ray

'The playback of high definition DVD titles requires higher CPU speed. The following is a list of the recommended CPU requirements to play Blu-ray Disc titles:

    Intel (Minimum):

    Pentium 4 541 3.2 GHz, Pentium D 840 3.2 GHz, Pentium D 930 3.0 GHz, 935 3.2GHz or 940 3.2 GHz, Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz, Pentium M 755 2.0 GHz, Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8 GHz, or T5600 1.83 GHz'

Can you confirm this as I have a bd-rom drive however it wont play the release I got from blockbuster.

Cyberlink BD ADVISOR SAID CPU :

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz Upgrade Recommended
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 Upgrade Recommended

he playback of Blu-ray Disc requires a powerful computer, such as a Dual-core or Quad-core CPU.

Some graphics cards include hardware decoding, meaning that you don’t need to use a powerful computer. When you play back Blu-ray Discs, the graphics card will share the decoding process and reduce the CPU usage.

The following is a list of the graphics cards that support hardware decoding:

    Nvidia: GeForce 8000, 9000 Series
ATI: ATI Radeon HD 2000, 3000 Series

    ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT!

Well, it looks like your GPU already supports Blu-Ray ("ATI: ATI Radeon HD 2000, 3000 Series"; you have an HD 2400.)

    CPU upgrade wouldn't hurt, either.

I really have no idea about the CPU requirements of BluRay playback, but please, make sure that hardware limitations are indeed the problem before investing in hardware upgrades.

I wouldn't trust the "cyberlink BD advisor" to make a decision that involves spending hundreds of dollars.
