I have the Asus Splendid program on a W2P.....Is there any way to set a default profile....Everytime the system boots (and when resuming from hibernation) the program resets back to the normal profile. The 'normal' profile is anything but normal.....It pushes blue way too hard.

I have a monitor calibration colorimeter (Colorvision Spyder Pro) and when I calibrate the screen it's almost identical to Splendid's 'Gamma Correction' profile. I want to set 'Gamma Correction' as the default profile so that it always boots with these settings.

If you can't set a default, is there anyway to alter the normal profile (so that it has the gamma correction settings). I tried using the 'my profile' setting, but this only adds another hot key choice it doesn't become the default
    Thanks

BTW whilst all monitors are slightly different, if you want the most accurate color representation when viewing photos....the 'Gamma Correction' setting is the accurate profile to use

You may want to try reinstalling the Splendid software and what tphilly described is correct, it should keep the profile of your choice.

I would also try a reinstall, but if that doesn't work, you may need to see if there's a conflict in color management between Splendid and your video card software. I've found that the two don't always get along...

After you choose the profile you like, you need to click the green check and be sure it shows "Gamma Correction" in the dropdown box under the folder-looking icon, too. It took me a while to figure that out, so thought it might be helpful. It might have been hidden, too, the first couple of times I looked at Splendid.

The profiles I use always come up, unless I change them. Usually, I go between Vivid and Gamma Correction for different reasons.

I reinstalled Splendid & it didn't solve the problem....So I started messing around with startup programs....Bottom line Catalyst control center isn't playing nice with splendid......I'm not sure that this is fixable.....I have the latest version of CCC, I'm running vista ultimate and have an X1700 GPU....tphilly are you running Vista or XP?
    Any suggestions?

You could disable CCC and start it up only when you need it. CCC (the most recent version, 7.5 I think) works fine with Splendid on a WinXP MCE computer.

I play Guild Wars and find that when I switch areas, the Splendid app always defaults to the normal setting. I like the soft view but it never keeps after I change areas in the game. Is there a way to lock the profile when playing a game? I tried sanpabloguy method and the setting does not stay when you switch areas. Any ideas?

Splendid doesn't play nice with CCC in a Vista enviroment.....What I did in the end was to disable auto startup of ccc.....This stopped my Splendid settings being overidden.
(you still need to allow the ATI external event viewer to startup...this file is ati2evxx) I'm not explaining this very well, so the best thing to do is follow this CCC tweak guide
    http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html
Bottom line though in a Vista enviroment, when you open CCC, it will cause splendid to default back to 'Normal"

When I've had this issue (in XP), I've resolvd it by opening the CCC and going to the "color" tab. I then hit "Reactivate ATI color controls" even though I wanted them to be controlled by Splendid. You can also try using the "Spelndid Compatibility Utility" in the start menu. The bottom line is that the color management conflict can be worked around if you apply the settings in the right order... or just play around for a while (in XP at least).

Does the latest version of CCC work with the x1700? On the ATI site I could not find this model to update the drivers.

Tested some more and found that if I minimize the game to just a window splendid does not go back to normal mode if I change areas. This only happens when it's in full screen mode so it must be a setting some where.
Any ideas? Anyone else play Guild Wars on a G2P?
