Can a bigger than 120W power brick be bought to work with the C90S?

Are there universal power adapters out there which would allow a potential power supply upgrade for a laptop?

There should be no need to upgrade the external power supply of a laptop.

The main PSU on a laptop is actually built onto the main board, this provides the usual +12v +5, +3.3 etc voltages from the 19.8v (usually) that is provided from the external PSU. This internal power supply should be rated at just above the external one so fitting a bigger external PSU will not increase the power available internally.

The only exception to this are laptops that come with a smaller PSU with the very low power chips BUT also have high power chips listed in the product range, the option then is to buy the bigger PSU from the manufacturer but this will only be needed if you change the internals of the laptop as well.

Sure you can upgrade it if you want, the laptop will only draw what it needs.

However the C90S never went above 120w draw in my tests so it would be pointless.

It originally came with a 90w adapter, the 120w adapter WAS an upgrade.

Thanks for the link vicious. I am looking however at a higher stable OC. Want to be able to reach 3ghtz. At moment with 4gigs ram it will reset as soon as I go higher than 2.9 ghtz and is not stable above 2.84 ghtz(crashed on stress test at 2.88. Was hoping a few more watts would iron out this problem. The temps are fine at 2.84 ghtz never goes above 67-70 degrees.
