    2 Questions-

    1) I have a g2s, and if use a 5.1 speaker, can i truly bring out the sound of the 5.1 speaker? Because from what i heard, most laptops connected to a 5.1 speakers, it can't maximize the capabilities of the speaker.

    2) Between Altec Lansing & Logitech, which one do you prefer?

What exactly do you want to maximize?

If you mean whether it can output 5.1, yes it can, most new integrated audio can via SPDIF optical output.

By maximize i mean bringing the 5.1 to its full potential, similar to connecting a dvd player to a 5.1 speaker.

What im afraid of is whether a laptop can do that.

About the quality, I don't know. I suggest you try it out and if you don't like it you can use a higher-end USB external soundcard.
