Hi all,
After a long long search for laptop, focusing on reliability and quality, considering thinkpads, fujitsu, sony FE, and many others, i finally ordered W3V from newegg. Why not W3J, obvious, more than 500$ difference for core duo and better graphics was not acceptable for me. Anyway.
Then, I considered ordering a cooling pad, since some say it gets warm and i think cooling it down can help it to live longer. BUT, today i looked at newegg photos from W3V (also W3J) bottom carefully and i noticed that there are almost no air vents in the bottom, though most other laptops, eg V6 series, have it.
So, if cooling pad could not force any air inside the laptop, can it be useful ?
thanks

I recently bought a cooling pad for $15 for my notebook and it has done a huge difference. My notebook hardly even gets warm any more and even performance has increased somewhat. However I don't know about the W3 series and how a cooling pad would effect one of them.

With my W3J, a cooling pad helps to reduce my hard drive temperatures quite a bit. I'd say approx. 5 degrees Celsius on average. It seems to do little for the CPU though. The CPU still gets to hot temps and the only way those are reduced is when the CPU fan kicks in.

How about using a software like SpeedFan to cool it. I'm using Speedfan and a cooling pad (both on full throttle) on my Z71V when I'm gaming. It works great.

Can cooling pad be useful for W3 series ?
