    Hello guys,

This would be my first post on this forum and my first problem with my new Asus F3JP. A few days ago i installed the Asus bios version 204 to see if there were any improvement, but now i want to go back to my old trusting Asus beta bios version 203 to fix the grainess.

My question now is, can i use Winflash to flash the bios version 204 to a older bios version(203)? or do i have to do it with something else. If so, what do i have to do?

Hope youre guys can help me fix this problem.

Sorry for my bad english, it not my mother language. :p

I believe all you need to do is run winflash from the console with the /nodate option.

I have tried to reflash the bios with bios version 203, but Winflash won't let me reflash the bios because the version is older then the version that i had installed on my console.

Any options what i can do? and what is the no date option?

V205T1 uploaded, it's newer than the BETA 203 tested by turbogear and it fixed the graininess, try download it and see if you can use WinFlash to update the BIOS, if not let me know I'll make another boot CD. :)

    Hello, :)

The new bios I provided v205.t1 is coming from ASUS support team in Germany.
I have been testing the bios for around 2 weeks now. So far I have not seen any problem with it.

In order to flash your F3jp notebook with this bios do following:

1- Put the bios file F3JP205.t1 directly under root directory C.
    2- Restart your computer.
3- At the startup press F4, this should start the flash utility directly.
No need to go to bios by pressing F2. You can start the utility directly by F4.
5- Under the flash utility navigate to root directory C.
    6- Select the file F3JP205.t1.
7- Then just select to flash it.
8- After a successful flash the computer will shut down.
    9- Restart the computer.
10- Press F2 to go to the bios.
11- Load the manufacturer default setting.
12- Save the settings and exit.

It is important that you restore the default manufacturer setting after flash otherwise sometime the Windows XP can crash after you restart your PC for first time.
Windows may say that it has found new hardware. Usually it will install the drivers automatically, if not than provide it with your driver CD.

    Good luck. :)
