***EDIT*** G51J not G50J, my bad

    Hello everybody.

Please would someone verify this method for updating my bios to 207, because I am scared of bricking my notebook!!

    I have an Asus G51J

So, Reboot and press F4 at the Asus splash screen (I'm guessing this is the Republic of gamers screen) to enter EasyFlash

Select the drive I saved it it (I'm guessing it doesn't neccessarily have to be saved onto a USB or anything??)

Select the bios file G60J207.T10 <--- Is this definitely the right one??

Then wait for it to update.

    PLEEEEASE can someone confirm this?

    Thankyou!!

    Monkeybars

(By the way, I recieveing BSOD in Crysis, which is my reason for updating)

    Hmm,

Well I updated via the Asus WinFlash function

Then pressed restart, but it didn't like that. It closed everything and went to a black screen but didn't shut off.

Left it for 15 mins, still nothing.

So held the power button down to turn it off and back on.

And dxdiag reveals it didn't update the BIOS!

Don't use winflash there is no advantage there.

Use the 208 bios from the ASUS site. I don't think there is anything wrong with the 207 bios you have, except that is an unofficial BIOS --> might lead to warranty issues.

Flash from the BIOS. I believe it is F2 you use to get into the bios.

DO NOT RESTART THE COMPUTER DURING THE FLASH. If it sits at complete for a long time, then it is safe to manually reboot.

    Thanks for the reply!

So it is as simple as just rebooting, press F2, then double click the Bios file?
