Does this mean the W2JC is about to surface in NA
Someone buy those up!!!
I want WSXGA+
-
Just because they have a stock doesnt mean it will be shipped anytime soon. They hold models back for months sometimes. waiting for current ones to sell out.

Who gave you that number? Asus doesn't even give us the exact numbers.... is that from some distributor or something?
I can tell you that Asus hasn't even ordered another W2j shipment and the ETA for the WSXGA+ is still up in the air.... they my be waiting for merom. -
Justin,
There are some very simplistic e-commerce website models that actually list the quanity in directly in thier distributors warehouse.
www.sparco.com is a good example. They are listing direct inventory updates from ingram micro.
The part numbers mean a lot more than model numbers.
A few years ago you could take an ingram part # and cross reference it on buy.com for quick search results. It was a back end way of finding products. Some of which werent even searchable on the core search engine.
I wasnt claiming those were W2JCs. I was stating that it appears to be an inventory query for fremont, CA on the W2JB remaining inventory. I would say most are sitting on dealers shelves. History tells me when a warehouse shows 1-5 thats an innacurate number subject to electronic error. -

Ditto..... I know what you're saying... I do... but Asus stocks most of their stuff in their office...... yet almost all of the distributors also have a place remotely nearby... Any number you're reading is most like what they have in their place because Asus doesn't give ANYONE their exact numbers anymore. Basically, all they'll do is say they're low or good...... and if you order too many, they'll just say they can't fill it.
... "low" for Asus is under 100.... "low" for us is under 10..... Most distributors don't stock a lot anymore because they've been screwed by sales that just basically stop dead one day... so even for them, if the big distributors stock 5-10 of them, I'd be surprised.
The moral of the story is that they're going to be gone shortly, certainly by time the rebate runs out, but a new model may not be here until the middle, if not end of August at the best. -
Sounds good to me!. Get em out of here.
I was considering getting one from ewiz at 2227.xx but that consideration has passed since someone or something has caused a shift in pricing there. They are going up fast at ewiz. Looks like they got in trouble for selling below MAP pricing. Companies don't like retailers selling below MAP. It can cause them to loose contracts. I should know. I convinced a dealer to pricematch a european music mail order house on a KORG Triton about 6 years ago. After posting the good deal that I got on a Korg Enthusiast Forum, Korg sent the dealer a letter and stated they were not permitted to match grey market/international pricing. Shortly after that I got a email from my sales person kindly asking me to remove the receipt and pricing info as Korg was a little upset with them. I did so, because the dealer really treated me well to the tune of about $900 savings.
Although a different product, the rules are similar.
I even emailed asus and confirmed that the rebates were valid from ewiz. They kindly wrote back and said I should be fine as long as I follow the guidelines etc.
Thanks for the confirmation eddie -

Yeah, Asus got pissed at them and not to get off base too much, but a few of us basically said either they do something about it, or we'll have to stop selling their products. What I don't get is why some of us have agreements on pricing with Asus and others don't, but when a product doesn't sell well, it means you're not ordering more and when you're not ordering more, that company is getting stuck with stock. The main problem was, not matter what they set they're price to, they actually weren't selling anything because either they didn't have them in stock, or people didn't trust them....... but needless to say, people called us and others trying to get a price match and that's something we simply can't do or Asus would be all over us..... But then again, we could say we're giving notebooks away and if they're not in stock and people can't get a "rain check"... what good is it?
.... Your rebate is good from ewiz if they sell it where they're supposed to. Technically Asus wouldn't hold it against the customer, but they're working on better ways to take it out on the dealer if they decide to do such a thing in the future. There are ways they could work it........ such as telling the dealer this is the price it must be sold at if you want to be able to order more from us........ But technically in everything we're ever gotten rebate wise on the dealer side, Asus makes a point of saying the rebate is for items marked at asus' set price. Most people would call that MSRP, but in the US that means a price no one will pay.... in Taiwan, or at least translated from the Taiwanese...... MSRP is like "the" price it must be sold at. To really translate into how it's used in the US, MSRP should be $200-300 more than it is and then everyone could sell at the set prices and customers would think they're getting a deal...... If you understand that, then you might just understand how Asus works. But the bottom line isn't that there is some huge scam to make tons of money on Asus notebooks.... the truth is that some companies are trying to make it difficult for others to exist..... if you can't win them over with service and support... you do it with low prices..... but if those prices make breaking even impossible, none of the good companies will be able to stay afloat and the disgusting thing about it is that if that happened, the only people selling notebooks for Asus would be the ones they'd least want to represent them. If margins were higher, I'd support the market setting the pricing..... but they're close to nothing and if Asus doesn't enforce pricing for the sake of the dealers who have built them, they should do it for the sake of the value of their products. In a similiar situations, Logitech lost all value in their computer speakers and they're basically sold at cost EVERYWHERE...... they used to be really good, but because no one is making money on them, they're selling as an after thought and the quality has gone way down. On the other hand, Klipsch has set their pricing and who sells their speakers and have allowed the quality to stay the same and the value to as well........ But if one person all of a sudden sold the speakers for $100 less, why would anyone buy them for $100 more? No one would and there's no reason to........
... Asus doesn't understand a lot of things and basically their view of their busienss is if distributors and dealers will buy their stuff, they don't care what happens...... they don't understand that they need to be responsible for ensuring the value of their product and making sure the dealers they want to stay in business, can afford to. -

The other day, I was trying to order 20pcs of Asus notebook extended warranty certificate in Fremont, I found one distributor has 1 pc in stock, most of the distributors have 0 in stock.
For notebooks, you barely see they have 5-10 of one single model in stock, 0-2 units is their common stock level.
Once you palce the order of notebooks, they just act like a small store in a small town, grab the phone and call Asus to order for you, what they order is just what you want, not more than what you want even by one unit. -

Can someone confirm this inventory level from Asus Fremont Office
