on their website and i also don't see a laptop finder utility there so i'm going through their horrible menu and it's unhelpful.

    Usually it's Letter1, number1, number2, letter3, letter4. (some are a tad different but same deal i'm sure).

So like Dell Lattitude: 6530 (6 is the rugged model, 5 is the screen size 15, 30 is the model generation. Some other brands include processor. Etc. But i am lost on the ASUS and cruising their site is starting to get to me. lol.

First letter is the series. What are rest of the characters? (and what are the other Letter1 series) G is gaming. Okay. U i think is ultraportable. K, A, X, no idea. B is business. N: Entertainment. And the rest of the characters that come after I have no idea.

And i'm trying to find their laptop that is mid range, not uber light, not a heavy desktop replacement, intel processor, $600ish. So basically their equivalent to the Lenova E530, HP m6-1125dx.

    Thanks,
    J

The link Josea posted will give you an idea of the model ranges for the first letter. Generally the second letter designates the screen size, so for example G5* is 15", G6* 16", G7* 17", etc. The next number is usually incremented for each new major revision of the chassis/system. So there was a G50, followed by a G51, followed by a G53. The next letters designate a certain hardware combination. For example, E designates intel graphics. After the dash is called the 'submodel' or retailer-specific model. It used to be that the A1, B1, etc models were 'premium reseller' models, the type you would get from a small reseller. The other ones were generally for big-box retailers. Although that has changed recently, so the submodel really isn't really decipherable until you look at all of the known variants.
