    Hello,
I just purchased a G51vx-rxo5 used and the person said the hinge has come loose. Can anyone tell by looking at the picture if it looks broken and what part I would need to fix it?

You should simply try to tighten the bolt on the hinge, am not sure but the hinge does not seem broken.

Is $550 a good deal for this? It is from the best buy warehouse and comes with everything. I'm guessing a return.

Then this is an amazing deal, the screen resolution is a bit low and the processor is getting old but thats about it for the specs, but i do recommend that you take a look at the actual laptop before buying, any scuffs or scratches could be a sign of poor handling or it could have been a display model.

    here is another example of a refurb ASUS G51VX-RX05 Notebook, Intel Core 2 P7350 (2.0GHz), 4GB, 320GB, DVDRW, Webcam, 15.6'' HD 1366x768 LED LCD, Windows Vista Premium 64bit ? Factory Refurbished - G51VX-RX05-R - Buy.com

Good, the ebay user also describes the plastic cover for the hinge and not the actual hinge, theoretically your item is perfect and the plastic cover is easily reinserted or glued (worst case scenario).

    Enjoy your new laptop

Nice, I just scored a T9800 off ebay for $220. I should have a very nice setup with 260m graphics card and almost 3 Ghz processor. Also got windows 7 professional for students back when they were offering it for $30. So not bad all together for $800.
