The A2 version with the bluray drive, can it burn DL discs? I've had mixed messages from various vendors.

Yes. This drive is a BD-reader, Super Multi DVD burner that is spec'd to burn DL dvd's. Asus is using it as their BD capable drive in all models at the moment.

Are you talking to vendors, or just looking at posted spec sheets?

I'm debating jumping back into the laptop market and either keeping or selling this W3j -- the G50v looks pretty nice. I thought i read somewhere that the A2 would have 7200RPM drives but not sure if that's the case.

Trying to debate what else would be a real solid option for back for the buck (but still fancy enough to get my geek on).

    G50v-A2 hdd = 2x200GB 7200rpm.

Orange just isn't my color :).

Vendors who obviously don't know what they are talking about. I heard one say yes it does and another who says no...so I was confused.
Any real live people with the A2 to confirm?

    >> The Undertow: Well basically all ASUS laptops nowadays are in the "bang for the buck" category. So the question is how portable you want it to be. The F8V is a 14" like the W3J, but it's not as compact. Then there is the 15.4 M50V, which is not as beefed up in specs as the G50 (I think) but looks a bit more subdued/business-like.

Yes, I own the A2 and it DOES in fact have Dual Layer.

And on a side note, the orange on the laptop really is not as bright as all the pictures I've seen. In person it looks a lot more sleek and fitting.
