I'm interested in these notebooks. Can I hook a monitor to the VGA port, and another to the HDMI and have two independent screens (3 including the built in screen)? Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm pretty sure the issue has been discussed before (perhaps not for this specific type of notebook but it shouldn't matter).
So, the dreaded search button is your only option at this hour -
Tried search, no good results. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Well, the hour is late, US has awakened, so maybe you'll get more answers

Hey, I have a G1s and i actually tried this today. I plugged in a tv in the hdmi port and a computer minitor in the vga port. it did not work....it only allows me to select 2 of the 3 available monitors. any combinaton of the 3 monitors works, just not all 3 at once. There might be a way to do it but i havent figured it out yet.
If anyone knows how to do it...let us know.
Hope that helps. -
Thanks for letting me know. At least the VGA and HDMI work at the same time. I think this feature is rare among notebooks and can be very useful.

I believe that the hardware is capable but deliberately crippled (by ATI). This is generally a workstation card feature.

Something worth trying might be to plug all the devices and restart the computer, see if you get it at BIOS.
Maybe we need some hacked FireGL drivers?
Can the V1/V2 Drive Multiple monitors on the VGA/HDMI ports?
