I found the lapto pI want but the keyboard layout is in german. Would it be hard to remove the keys and replace them in the proper QWERTY order?

This is a really simple question any ASUS owner can answer from looking at their keys, I'm a little upset nobody's answered it yet despite there being a lot of activity in other threads.
-
Okay now i'm really annoyed
-
Don't be annoyed!
Are you saying you want to remove individual keys on the keyboard? I don't think you can.... it's better if you just buy a US keyboard from the Asus estore and replace the entire keyboard. -
u can print the original QWERTY layout on the keyboard without removing the old ones.
-
How would I do this without it looking(and feeling) kind of odd?
-
It's the F3 series I'm looking about, can someone confirm if you can remove the individual keys? Is the keybed all one piece or something that you can replace? How much does another keyboard cost?
I find the idea of a keyboard where you can't remove the keys very strange. What happens if breadcrumbs got underneath? -
You'll have to try it out yourself. It will differ from person to person, but it should be terribly bad...

No one sells individual keys for a keyboard. The keyboard itself is $20. It is a one piece hardware that has a connector to your motherboard and can be removed easily.

To clean the keyboard, you usually take the keyboard out and use compressed air to get the dirt out. -
Hmm, where can I get a keyboard layout for Ireland/UK?
The German keyboard layout is so extensively different, would the stickers even work I wonder? -
Are you located in the UK? If so, I highly doubt you can get one from Asus since they don't have their own service centers there, and the contract company that does Asus repairs in the UK are infamously known for their less than desirable customer service. You could try contacting them to see if you can purchase a UK keyboard from them and just replace it yourself.
As for the stickers, I never had the need to use them, so I couldn't tell. -
Well it's this laptop I'm looking at -

if I could get a version with an english keyboard out of the box it would be petty handy. something with pretty much the same specs and price. -

This is what I did with my C90, might answer some questions.

Hmm might be best just to go for the stickers, since they have different keys on German keyboards, not just a different layout.

Kittie Rose, my X51r was also bought form Germany, and all i had to do is set the language for English (Us or UK, doesn't really matter), because when you do that, the "x" and "y" switch places, and even though on the keyboard you see QWERTZ, it's really QWERTY
STRG is CTRL and Entf is DEL. Basically these are the most important things you need to know. -
It's not that hard getting used to the german lay out, I orderd my laptop from germany as well. Just the Y and Z are switched around and the question mark is placed on a different spot.

just go to the asus repair store and tell them you want your keyboard changed. They will happly do it for you and it wont void your warranty that way
Can you change around the keys on a foreign ASUS laptop?
