So I can't even find a REFURB Asus G71GX RX05 now, and Best Buy JUST got rid of their last one.

Besides ebay, does anyone know where I can pick one of these up? Refurb or New?

Also, anyone know a laptop close to it's specs for around 1100?

Do a google search then click "shopping." You should find a few. Not sure if they actually have some in stock. Some refurbs too.

Dude, I was in the same boat. My local Best Buy didn't have any left in when I planned on buying mine (and still doesn't have any in). I instead had to make multiple phone calls to other best buys in other parts of my city and outside of it as well. I finally found my G71GX-RX05 30 minutes away from the city I lived in, the Best buy there had only ONE left.

Gotta search hard for one, it's a highly sought laptop actually. Best Buy's will try their hardest to convince you to get the G51VX-RX05 because they have LOADS of those in stock (because some people [like myself] looked at the specs [especially the cpu] and just can't accept it). With that in mind I HAD to get the G71GX-RX05 because it had great specs right out the box, in such low supply, and high demand. Keep at it in finding one, don't settle for one Best Buy, the G71GX-RX05 is well worth the purchase!

From the specs in your sig, looks like it's pretty good.

frys.com has their model which is exactly the same except labeled G51vx-rfrx05. It's $1149.99 but you pay no tax so it's like $60 more than BB's but you can get the asus 1 year accidental and 2 year parts/labor warranty for free with it so imo the better deal.

Well, no tax on it if there isn't a frys in your state.
