I bought my ASUS laptop (F3SA-A1) last year and I've been using Vista for a while. I want to "downgrade" to Windows XP but I can't find drivers for this specific laptop. Anyone know where I could get it?
Also, I haven't installed XP before so I need a tutorial of some sorts.
Thanks.

Did you check support.asus.com ?
If ASUS does not support XP for your specific type of laptop you will need to scavenge for drivers. Search the forums, maybe some F3S user has already done this and posted some links.
As to an XP install guide, check my signature. -

I did. All I found was Vista Drivers and the FAQ wasn't much help either.

Here You have useful information how and where to find drivers. Asus G1s have almost the same components inside like F3Sa http://asusg1s.blogspot.com/2008/01/installing-windows-xp-sp2-on-asus-g1s.html
I'm still waiting for SP1 and if the situation won't be better after that I will make a downgrade as well
Remember to compare some components because G1s and F3Sa has some differences for example graphic card (easily you find drivers to hd 2600 on ati website).
After downgrade describe you fillings or problems it will help me or other person with downgraded to XP
Cheers

I have been finding (the hard way) that there are XP drivers included in the Asus F3SA Vista driver packs, I spent at least a couple hours attempting to just get the nic working & finally in desperation downloaded the Vista LAN pack to see if the Vista driver might work & sure enough there was a XP folder in the zip that included the correct driver. I tend to think that Asus (urged on by MS), is just trying to discourage XP installs....
I'm still in the process of getting my just bought F3SA up & running.
I had to do a system restore after Windows Updates rendered it unbootable. -
you might be able to use the same drivers i used when i installed XP on my f3sv, our models should be fairly simmilar so many of them should work. My guide really only gets the basic drivers installed as i dont need XP for anything but gaming (so i focused mainly on wireless, video, and sound)
but, who knows it might provide some useful info. (link in my sig) -

The generic ATi drivers have to be modded in order to recognize notebook GPUs. I don't know details but surely you can find them on the web.

You'll need the ATI Mobility Modder to mod the driver:

, after 3 rather hellish days I have finally got XP up & working at full capacity...
Another tip I might add to others wishing to install XP on this notebook is that if you happen to have installed added RAM after buying this, take it out until all drivers are in & working. I had a major issue after installing LAN drivers that would lock me at the Windows load screen unless I disabled the nic in safe mode, after I googled this to death for a day & a half I was about to give up beginning to think the nic was bad but I finally found a page that suggested returning the notebook to its native hardware state before installing drivers. I gave it a shot & removed the 2 GB stick I had installed & sure enough it booted up fine, I installed all other base drivers & put the stick back in without any problem. I'm now installing all the software I use & about 15 apps later I've yet to have a hang -
If somebody need Windows XP drivers for F3SA find them here http://www.notebookdriverdownload.com/kategori/Asus_Notebook_Drivers/Asus_F3sa_drivers.html
