I have replaced the HDD on my Asus N56VZ with a new Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD. Now I can not enter the BIOS upon boot up as I normally would by holding down the "F" key while I press the power on button.

It seems like the BIOS entry window is bypassed as it boots up so quick now!

Anyone else experience this and any way to work around this issue?

Any problems with booting? F2 is suppose to enter BIOS unless you updated it, in which case, I think it's actually DEL.

Thanks Ken, that is how I was already getting into BIOS before the SSD installation and also tried it that way after!

I was thinking, tonight I will try placing some media into either the optical drive or into a USB port and maybe that might cause the system to look at those drives during boot up giving some time while holding the "F2" key down while powering up!

Glenn; good idea, if that method does not work you could also try an external USB keyboard

    An update!

It looks like I was able to solve my issue (at least for now) of not being able to access BIOS on bootup by holding down the "F2" key while pressing the power button!

I went into BIOS after logging in and I "disabled" Fast Boot and saved and exited. Then I went back into BIOS and then I "enabled" Fast Boot again and saved and exited.

Wouldn't you know it, I can now immediately boot into BIOS in the usual manner by holding down the "F2" key while powering up and all seems OK now!

The toggling of Fast Boot from enabled to disabled and back again to enabled seems to have done it!

Anyhow, I will keep my eye on this and hope it holds.
