I know that this is a pretty common problem caused by lack of or old drivers, but after searching and hoping for a fix, I have produced nothing and have come here for some help.
I recently reinstalled vista on my f8va with the recovery dvd that came with the notebook, but now I can't access the internet through either wireless or cable. The only thing listed under the network adapters in the device manager is a 'Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)' with a yellow exclamation point next to it. Under properties it says "this device cannot start. (Code 10)" I have tried to update it, but I am told that the device is up to date.
The only other exclamation marks in the device manager are under other devices with code 28s: 3 base system devices, a network controller, and 2 unknown devices. All of these are have unknown manufacturers.
I have tried reinstalling and updating the wireless drivers using both the driver disc for the notebook and drivers off of the asus website, but neither have done anything, except give me a headache.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
