So I took advantage of the $30 digital download of Windows 7 for students and since I'm going from vista 32 to W7 x64 I needed to download and burn the ISO.
I used the Software provided by microsoft to burn both a bootable DVD and bootable USB drive.
When I restart, F5 to get to the windows boot menu, only Windows vista is listed, no bootable media.
I changed the boot priority in the bios to DVD first, then removable media first and no luck.
I have an ASUS M51sn-X2
I'd really like to be able install W7, any advice out there?

So I figured out how to install W7. I guess the bootable DVD just wasn't working. I had to go into the BIOS, select boot HDD first, then go to my Hard disk options and make my USB drive my bootable HDD. From there I was able to run the Windows installer but since the install process restarts, I have to go back into the BIOS after the 1st restart and change the HDD settings back to normal.... whew how annoying
Can't boot from DVD or USB drive to install W7
