    Dear all friends,

My laptop Asus N53S has 2 displays:
    1. NVIDA GeForce GT 540M
    2. Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

but in win7 64x is usually displayed in the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and I can not use the NVIDA GeForce GT 540M.

I dont understand why like that ? and how can I display on the NVIDA GeForce GT 540M ?

    Thanks you!

All latest notebooks having Nvidia GPU comes with optimus technology. This technology . This technology automatically switches between the two GPU ( intel and nvidia) depending on the graphic usage of the laptop.

If you are doing light work like ms word, playing music , browsing net, it will switch to intel GPU as it generates less heat and also incase you are using the laptop on battery, it will give longer battery life.

But when you are doing graphic intensive work like working on adobe photoshop, playing a game, watching a blu ray movie, Optimus automatically switches to Nvidia. This will result in better performance but again, if you are on battery, it will mean shorter battery life.

Thing about optimus is that it works automatically. It works in background and decides on it own which GPU to use. you cannot specify which GPU to use according to your wish (atleast in most of the laptops)

But you should not be worried about it, all latest games and softwares are developed for optimus. So if you run any graphic intensive program, Nvidia will automatically switch to in background. I hope this helped?
