I bought a refurbed G50vt-x1 a few months ago and everything has been working dandy until about 3 weeks ago when suddenly, inexplicably, my wireless turned itself off. I can't seem to get the wireless console to work to enable it again, and my hotkeys aren't working. I looked for drivers and did a google search for similiar problems but really didn't find anything.

I tried re-installing the drivers on the CD that came with the computer, but the hotkey driver kept failing to install.

How do I get the darn thing to work?

EDIT: just ran CCleaner as well, looks like ATK0100 (which is the driver my user manual said to re-install if I had the problem I'm having) is marked as an obsolete file and couldn't be deleted so it needs to be deleted from the registry manually. I've never deleted anything from the registry before so I don't want to screw it up; I'm assuming this may have something to do with the problem?

Does the wireless light come on, on the laptop? Does Device manager see the wireless card?

Wireless light isn't on, and the device manager doesn't seem to recognize the card...but I know its there because I've used it before it started acting up.

There's really just 2 courses of action from here if the wireless light doesn't come on and if device manager doesn't see it.

    1. One of the cables must have came undone, the card isn't connected physically in the laptop. It happens rarely but the wireless cables connecting to the card are sometimes pretty flimsy, considering their usually just 2 wires connecting in a snap on fashion. I would check this, make sure it's connected, and maybe put some electrical tape on the wires to hold it down more to prevent this from happening again.

    2. The Card itself is defective.
